City council races turn on a few hundred votes. That is not a discouraging number, it is an encouraging one, because it means what you do actually moves it.
01
Chip in
This is about as grassroots as a race gets. A guy from Ward 1, a stack of door hangers, and a lot of driveways.
Signs and printing are most of what a city council race costs, so a dollar genuinely helps and there is no amount too small.
Arkansas lets individuals give, not companies. If you would rather do it another way, call me at (501) 317-6297.
The cheapest, most effective thing in local politics. A sign in your yard tells the people who drive past you every day that somebody they know is paying attention to this race.
Better than one sign is knowing where the next twenty go. The corner everybody slows down at. The empty lot on the way to school. The business owner who would say yes if somebody bothered to ask.
Tell me where in Ward 1 you are and I will bring one by myself, and send me the spots while you are at it.
03
Deliver door hangers
The door hangers are already printed. Getting them onto doors is the part that takes people.
Take a street, take a subdivision, take whatever you have time for. No knocking required unless you want to.
04
Tell three neighbors
Honestly, this is the big one. If you think the grocery tax idea makes sense, say so to three people who live near you. That is worth more than any ad I could run.
Say it at the ballgame, say it in the group chat, post it if you post things. It counts the same either way.
05
Get out the vote
A good idea loses all the time because the people who agreed with it stayed home on a Tuesday.
Remind your people the week of November 3, and offer somebody a ride if they need one. Dates and locations come from the Saline County Clerk, not from me.
06
Host a community meeting
Six neighbors and a living room is a real meeting. Coffee optional.
You pick the night and get the people there. I will come, bring the numbers, and answer whatever gets asked.
Put me down for something.
Anything here is a help. Pick whichever one fits and Greg will follow up himself.
